Netti Kyphotic is designed for users who require optimum stabilization of their spinal curvature. The upholstery is designed to follow the curvature, providing support and stability, and maximum pressure distribution for the kyphotic spine.

Netti Kyphotic is as the name implies designed for users who require optimum stabilization of curvature thorax = kyphosis.

The upholstery is designed to follow the curvature, providing support and stability,
and maximum pressure distribution. It has a high elastic textile at the center and a breathable fabric on both sides to ensure good comfort. The backrest cushion in combination with the velcro straps gives opportunity for a more upright seating position. This allows better nutrient absorption, respiration and increased activity level.

The backrest cushion comes standard in 4 sizes, but can be offered in other dimensions upon request.
Unique Features
  • Ergonomically designed to follow the curvature of the kyphosis. The middle part has a cut out section to provide maximum pressure relief of the spinal curve.
  • Low lateral supports with ventilating 3D textile. The low lateral supports ensure comfort and freedom of movement for shoulders and arms.
  • The lower part of the base is removed so that the cushion can be placed right next to, and aligned with the seat cushion.
  • Unique design ensures freedom of movement for shoulders.
  • Multi layered core of foam (PU) with pressure relieving properties. MARS textile/fabric with excellent ventilating and elastic properties. Elastic fabrics ensure that the user can sink into the cushion and take advantage of the good pressure distributive properties.
  • Designed to provide support for the lower part of the spine and its curvature.
Kyphosis - some facts

Kyphosis is represented by an increased curvature of the vertebral column, particularly in the breast/thoracic region. A normal, healthy spine shows a rather weak, regular posterior curve in the breast/thoracic region, and slightly frontal curve in the lumbar and cervical region. When the curvature is stronger than normal, it is called kyphosis.
The cause of kyphosis may be disease, congenital defect, damage of the intervertebral discs,
failure or age-related changes (including oste-
oporosis) (From the Big Norwegian Medical Encyclopedia).

Age Change

As a general age phenomenon, the back often becomes slightly bended forward, due to the fact that the vertebrae become more porous and thin. In older people the joints between the vertebrae often hardens. They can’t further compensate the amplified curvature by increasing the curvature in loin/lumbar and neck to keep the body and head straight. The result is often forward leaning when walking and sitting.
The possibilities of regular movements such as turning around, bending down and raising up is reduced. This affects daily activities such as keeping a conversation, looking around (preparedness at risk) and enjoy food and drink. Lung capacity is often weakened. The incidence among older people is estimated to between 20% and 40%. Women are more frequently affected than men.

Build up of Netti Kyphotic. The core is made of different foam materials (PU), with different degree of firmness for maximum pressure relief, comfort and support.

Cut out section in the central core to accommodate the spinal curvature.
Netti Kyphotic comes standard in 4 sizes, but other sizes can be customized.
