The Netti Precision seat cushions are designed for proactive protection of the skin preventing pressure injuries through:
Optimized microclimate: temperature and humidity
Pressure relief

23,6% lower humidity

Humidity above 60% can increase skin vulnerability and cause friction between the skin and textiles, which potentially can lead to pressure injury. This is why we aim to keep the humidity low.

The tests from the University of Pittsburgh show that the cushion with Netti Precision™ material has a humidity level of 62% after 3 hours compared to an average of 81,2% for the 14 comparable cushions.
Seat cushions based on Ergomise™ Technology offer the lowest humidity at user interface, which helps protect the skin and lower the risk of pressure injuries. Netti Precision outperforms competitors as seen in the test from the University of Pittsburgh comparing Netti Precision to 14 competitor seat cushions.
2,6 ⁰C lower temperature
The microclimate is affected by temperature as a hot, moist surface increases skin vulnerability. Studies shows, that temperature higher than 32-33°C is seen as damageable to the skin.
The Netti Precision™ material maintain a low temperature and thus lower risk of injury.
According to the test institute at the University of Pittsburgh, the temperature at the interface between the user and Netti Precision™ material is only 32,7°C after 3 hours. Comparable cushions measure between 33,7°C and 35,7°C.
Pressure relief
The Netti Precision cushions focus on reducing the pressure on the high-risk areas by distributing the pressure over a larger area and to areas that are more tolerant of pressure. The thighs and buttock muscles are more tolerant due to muscles and better blood flow: this is the safe-loading concept.
Particularly in the case of immobile users or sensitive skin, the continuous minimization of pressure peaks is crucial to maintaining local blood flow and preventing tissue damage.
Pressure measurements show that Netti Precision effectively removes pressure from high-risk areas:
Sit bones
Coccyx
Trochanter

Pressure mapping has also shown that Netti Precision™ surpasses other pressure preventive cushions when it comes to peak pressure.
The competitor seat cushions tested are:
Cushion #1 is a fluid seat cushion marketed as a “Skin Protection” cushion.
Cushion #2 is a high-end density contoured seat cushion marketed as being suitable for wheelchairs users with pressure injury stage I and II.
We tested peak pressure against competive cushion. The tests shown here were performed by Netti at setting 115 mmHg.

Documented effect compliant with MDR
With Ergomise™ Technology, we have designed high-performance seat cushions that proactively protect the skin and enhance comfort. The technology used is great to create products that offer skin protection. We have combined decades of expertise within wheelchair seating with cutting-edge technology and created ground-breaking Netti Precision seat cushions.
The Netti Precision cushion are not merely a new manufacturing technology based on 3D printing, this solution is built on Ergomise technology – developed by seating specialists with in‑depth expertise in wheelchair seating. It has been designed with a clear focus on preventing pressure ulcers and improving seated posture, enabling users to sit comfortably in the wheelchair and actively participate in activities of daily living (ADL).
The Netti Precision cushions comply with the requirements of the Medical Device Regulation (MDR).
Evidence demonstrates improved microclimate management and safe load distribution of pressure, which helps prevent pressure ulcers while ensuring postural stability.
This supports an evidence‑based selection of seating solutions with a focus on biomechanical support, pressure redistribution, and prevention of tissue damage.
